GANSEVOORT, N.Y. — The Keuka College Department of Athletics excelled on the field during the 2018-19 year, and the Wolves did the same in the classroom.
Keuka College topped the North Eastern Athletic Conference with 116 student-athletes earning NEAC Scholar-Athlete honors.
To earn North Eastern Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete, the student-athlete needs to maintain a 3.40 combined grade point average or higher for the fall and spring semesters.
The 116 student-athletes continues an upward trend for the department as Keuka College had 110 selections last year and 85 two years ago. Keuka College led the NEAC with 17 more selections than second place. The 116 selections were more than three full-time members of the conference combined.
The selections encompass the 14 teams and sports that are sponsored by the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Overall, Keuka College had 164 student-athletes across their 23 varsity teams earn above a 3.40 for the academic year. As a department, Keuka College posted a 3.21 grade point average, up from a 3.09 last year.
The Women's Track and Field team led the way with a 3.56 grade point average. Right behind them was the Dance team and Men's Track and Field team with a 3.52. The top NEAC teams for the Wolves was the Women's Volleyball and Women's Soccer teams, each with a 3.48 average. In total, 19 of the 23 teams recorded at least a 3.00 grade point average.
In total, the Wolves had seven student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.00 grade point average for the year.
